Eucharistic Adoration: Salzburg's Adoratio Congress inspires 800 participants!

Something is happening in Salzburg: From October 3rd to 5th, 2023, the first Adoratio Congress took place in the impressive cathedral in the old town. Over 800 participants, including both youth and the elderly, came together to encounter the power of Eucharistic Adoration. The event was organized by the charismatic Rupert “Don Rupi” Santner, who touched the hearts of those present with a varied program. Under the motto “The Passionate Love of God”, participants could expect inspiring lectures, conversations and numerous workshops.

Archbishop Franz Lackner solemnly opened the congress with a holy mass and emphasized the positive effect of worship. “Adoratio” is understood here as an active inner process that requires silence and reflection. The talk show that took place as part of the assembly also asked key questions about worship and listening to Jesus, with Brother Brian Joseph Thomas encouraging people to view thoughts as part of life and to talk to God about them.

Diverse program and workshops

The varied program included not only in-depth lectures, but also a special evening of mercy, which encouraged many young people to take advantage of the sacrament of confession. During the congress, 35 priests were deployed to provide spiritual guidance to the participants. On Saturday afternoon, 22 workshops were offered in the surrounding buildings around the Metropolitan Church. Topics such as “The Eucharist as a foretaste of heaven” and “When God is annoying – vocation as a disruptive signal?” were very well received.
