Music is alive! Spotlight on the 70s in Mauterndorf on November 7th and 8th
Next week, the festival hall in Mauterndorf will be the venue for a very special musical event. On November 7th and 8th, 2025, the “Lungau Pop Factory” will be a guest with its “Spotlight 70s Year” program. The two benefit concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. and promise to take visitors on a journey through time to the musical diversity of the 1970s. This decade saw an explosion in the variety of styles in pop music - from rocking classics to funky songs to soulful and folky ballads.
The event brings together 17 talented musicians from Lungau. The participants consist of a diverse age group - the youngest member is just 22 years old, while the oldest is a whopping 72 years old. With the net proceeds going to a Lungau family that has been hit hard by fate, the music not only represents entertainment, but also a good cause. SN.at reports that the Lungau Cultural Association LKV acts as the project sponsor and the event takes place every two years.
A varied program
After topics such as “50 Years of Woodstock”, “Club Session Love Songs” and “Beatlemania entan Tauern” were celebrated in the past, this year the focus is on the musical sounds of the 1970s. Co-initiator Gerold “Fio” Fingerlos provides the right beat on the drums, while the “Voices” – including Claudia Antretter, Miriam Bichler and Maria Hauser – bring the melodies to life. They are complemented by other talented band members, including guitarists Alexander “Xanda” Lüftenegger, Mathias “Hias” Messner and Christian “Hausa” Kößlbacher, as well as saxophonist Herbert Hofer and trumpeter Christoph Steinwender.
A ticket for the concerts costs 25 euros and is a nice opportunity to enjoy music and do something good at the same time. The event is organized by Fritz Messner, Gerold Fingerlos and Robert Wimmer, with the technical implementation also being in the hands of Stefan Haussteiner from E2 Event Engineering.
A celebration of music and helpfulness
With the “Lungau Pop Factory”, the Lungau Cultural Association has created a platform that not only promotes musical talent, but also creates a strong sense of community within the region. lungaukultur.at emphasizes that in addition to the musical performance, the focus is also on supporting an affected family. It's a worthy occasion to shine the spotlight on all the stories, big and small, that come to light through the power of music.
With an exciting program and the special charm of the Lungau musicians, “Spotlight 70s” will certainly be a highlight in the region’s cultural scene. Be there when music touches people's hearts!
