Fitcenter Hallein wins silver at the 2025 Business Prize!

The “Austria’s Leading Companies” business prize was awarded in a ceremonial setting on November 22, 2025. This caused a stir among the award-winning companies Fitcenter Hallein GmbH & Co KG special attention as it secured second place in the small business category. In a competition that honors the best local businesses, the company has established itself as a fixture in the fitness industry over the past three decades.

The Fitcenter Hallein attaches great importance to personal support and sustainable growth. Managing director Manfred Petautschnig emphasized that addressing members individually makes a crucial difference in the fitness industry. The positive trend for the company is also reflected in its financial health: With the highest KSV ranking and the best credit rating in its category, the Fitcenter Hallein was able to successfully defend its position.

Economic awards and criteria

The business award is presented in cooperation with “The Press” as well as KSV 1870 and PwC Austria. The assessment is based on the business figures of the last three years and follows an objective analysis process based on twelve key performance indicators and growth factors. Honorees even have the opportunity to compete against other outstanding companies in the national title game in November 2024.

In a year in which the fitness market in Austria is flourishing overall - 1.3 million people are currently members of fitness and health facilities - the Hallein Fitcenter has even more reason to celebrate. According to a study by the Association of Leisure and Sports Companies in the Austrian Economic Chamber, fitness studios recorded impressive growth of 6.4 percent compared to the previous year. Those under 20 and those over 50 are particularly interested and are contributing to the positive development.

Expansion and challenges

The Fitcenter Hallein currently operates five locations, with another one in Altenmarkt im Pongau being planned. The company employs 46 people and will hire five more in November in order to optimally serve the high number of members - over 7,000 people. Petautschnig is planning a “healthy expansion” and would like to invest more in training its employees in order to further deepen their care skills.

In summary, it can be said that the Fitcenter Hallein not only shines through its outstanding performance in the industry rating. With a clear focus on personal care and sustainable growth, the company is actively shaping the fitness landscape in Salzburg and will remain an important player in the industry in the future.
